Final cleaning before handover

Final cleaning before the owner walkthrough

The handover is where your work gets judged. We detail every surface so the owner sees finishes, not fingerprints.

Glass-walled offices along a carpeted corridor with sunlight across the floor

The clean the owner sees

Handover day is the first time the owner, architect or tenant sees the space as a finished product. Smudged glass, dusty sills and a forgotten sticker on an appliance turn into punch items and a second walk. Final cleaning is the detail pass that heads that off. It comes after the trades are done in an area, and it is scheduled backward from your walkthrough, with time held for touch-ups if a last repair goes in.

Crews work top down and room by room. Light fixtures, vents and high ledges first, then doors, frames, hardware and switch plates, then cabinets inside and out, counters, appliances and sinks. Glass and mirrors are cleaned streak-free, restroom fixtures polished, and floors vacuumed, mopped or detailed to suit the finish. Nothing is marked complete until a supervisor has walked the room and signed it off.

For a general contractor, the final clean protects the impression the whole project leaves. A spotless handover keeps the owner’s attention on the work your trades did, and fewer cleaning items on the punch list means fewer return trips. Developers and property managers get the same benefit at closing or lease-up: keys change hands in a space the new occupant can use from the first day, with the certificate of insurance already on file.

Step by step

How it works.

01

Trades out

We book the final pass for after the last trade leaves each area.

02

Detail top down

Crews clean from ceiling to floor so nothing settles on finished surfaces.

03

Each room is inspected before your owner or architect walkthrough.

A few useful answers

Final cleaning questions.

How close to the walkthrough should the final clean happen?

Close enough that no new dust settles, with room left for a return visit if a repair lands late. The walkthrough sets the exact timing for your project, and we plan backward from it.

What is the difference between post-construction cleaning and a final clean?

Post-construction cleaning covers the whole cleanup from the end of the build. The final clean is the last detail pass just before handover, when every surface is polished for the people signing off.

Can the final clean happen on a weekend before a Monday handover?

Yes. A weekend final clean suits a Monday walkthrough and leaves the space untouched until the owner arrives.

How is final cleaning priced?

By square footage, finish types, glass and fixture counts, and the hours on your calendar, including nights or weekends. We walk the space for free and put the price in a written quote.

Do you clean inside cabinets and appliances during the final clean?

Yes. Cabinet and drawer interiors, appliance interiors and closet shelving are wiped, because owners and buyers open them during the walkthrough.
